BAROLO 2015, 93 centesimi: Aromas of iron, stone and fresh, sliced strawberries follow through to a medium to full body with tannins that build on the palate. Needs three to four years to soften. Drink in 2022 or later.

BAROLO ALBARELLA 2015, 94 centesimi: Poached and spiced red cherries and red plums, with a walnut-like sheen of more savory aromas. There’s a bed of fine tannins supporting the palate, which holds bright and juicy red-fruit flavor that darkens and enriches the deep, long finish. Try this from 2023.

BAROLO ROCCHE DELL’ANNUNZIATA 2015, 95 centesimi: Complex aromas of plums, cedar, dried flowers and leather follow through to a full body, chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Needs three or four years to come around. Try in 2023.

BARBERA D’ALBA GIADA 2016, 91 centesimi: Another very plush Barbera that shows tons of elderberry reduction, plum compote and morello cherries with vanilla and eucalyptus. Even so, there’s good firmness and polish to the tannins, and I like the intensity and energy to this on the palate. Drink now.

LANGHE NEBBIOLO 2017, 91 centesimi: Fresh rose petals, citrus and orange peel. Fruity and delicious with tangy acidity and a flavorful finish. Drink now.
